I have 47, second grade, Chinese Immersion students in my homeroom class, and every day we spend two and half hours learning Chinese and using it to study math and science, as well as for classroom communication. My students have developed their Chinese skills very well so far, and now that they have been learning Chinese for two years, my goal for this group of students is that, as well as being able to communicate in Chinese; they will also be able to recognize Chinese words and enjoy reading Chinese books.
