This project would allow me to provide my students with some much-needed shade. Working in the fresh air is wonderful, but it gets very hot in the South Carolina sun. I would like to get my students patio umbrellas and camping chairs to provide them with a more comfortable working environment. Utilizing multiple umbrellas and camping chairs, students will be able to work in groups on a variety of assignments, discuss their current reading, or even work individually without the need for a mask. I want to make sure that their outdoor classroom is as conducive to learning as their indoor classroom. This year is going to be very different for both teachers and students. It is important that students continue to learn how to work cooperatively in a responsible, safe manner.
