A large population of the students in my school comes from low-income families. 84% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and 57% of the students identify as Hispanic/Latino.
Aside from the numbers, my students are a group of first graders who are eager to explore and learn more about the world, each other and themselves. I hope to develop an engaging learning environment that helps them to do just that.
