The materials for the escape rooms and lock-box challenge will allow my students to interact with science concepts in a non-traditional and engaging manner. The challenge to open the box will help motive my students to complete their task and learn the concepts being taught.
Children need to get up and move! Sitting at a desk all day can be boring and not engaging. What better way to learn than with a challenge that will get students moving, thinking, and working together.
The products I have selected will challenge my students to complete six rigorous tasks in order to unlock a mystery prize. With each task, my students will analyze data, make observations, and form conclusions about science topics to unlock each lock. With every successful attempt, they will be one step closer to the grand prize and with each unsuccessful attempt, they will need to problem solve and communicate their findings to determine where they went wrong, developing grit and perseverance along the way.
