My soccer team is mainly Hispanics and African Americans, who are from low income housing. Most cannot afford the basic soccer supplies. They love soccer. Most of them look forward to soccer season from the first day of school. Soccer motivates them to achieve things they never imagine is possible. My school and district are both Title One. This means 85% of our students are from low income homes. Soccer is a club at my school, therefore it's not a part of athletics. Because of this, we are not funded. We have to fundraise to purchase all of our equipment. Currently we are lacking basic resources for the upcoming season. There is a huge interest in soccer at my school. last year over 170 boys tried out and 40 were chosen for 2 teams.
