I teach in an urban area elementary school. The majority of my students are learning English as a second language and receive free or reduced priced meals at school. My pre-k class consists of 16 4 and 5 year old students, along with myself and a paraprofessional teacher. For most, pre-k is a very first experience in school, or even the first time away from their family. We want it to be a positive and memorable experience for all! My students are excited to explore, learn and play. They build their vocabularies, social skills, problem solving and academic skills through carefully designed, hands on, multi sensory activities. Play with a purpose has endless possibilities for learning and growth!
