How do you teach someone who has only known failure the story of success? I work with 12th grade English at an at-risk alternative high school in Kentucky. Our students are often drop outs who have returned to school despite overwhelming challenges. Many of them are parents, require full-time employment to support themselves, or fell behind academically for a variety of reasons and gave up on education altogether.
