My students are 7th and 8th grade students in a Title I middle school in Phoenix, Arizona. They are all absolutely wonderful, and love learning music. The most-requested item to learn from them is guitars, and while we have 19 acoustic guitars, many of them lack strings, and we have no class set of books to learn from.
We are requesting 24 acoustic guitar string sets and 15 of guitar books 1 and 2 so that we can use the guitars we already have and learn to play them. While we have been trying to learn them despite the lack of resources, when strings break I have no way to replace them, and this has hindered the learning process. In addition, I do not want to break copyright laws, so the lack of books has also made things difficult.
