My school boasts being the most diverse school in the state while also having the second highest number of Advanced Placement tests taken. The AVID college readiness program plays a major part making sure all students have the opportunity to succeed in high school and beyond. There are 175 students benefiting from the AVID college readiness program at my school. Over 75% of the AVID students qualify for free/reduced lunch which makes a "bring your own devise" not feasible for many of our students. Most of the AVID students are the first in their family to attend college and are low income or minority students. All students are college bound and taking high level courses to help them on the path to college with the support of our AVID program. Last year, 95% of the students graduating from our AVID entered college after graduation.
