I am a teacher of young STEAMers. I want to provide my students with a well-rounded education, while sparking their imagination and inspire their love of learning. My school district is one of the only districts on Long Island to embrace the Next Generation Science Standards. The district has been implementing STEAM related curriculum within the upper elementary students, as well as the middle and high school students. I am fortunate enough to be apart of implementing STEAM education in the younger grades (K-2). We have a Science Lab dedicated to STEAM and hope to create and dedicate a portion of the room to be our maker space. This is where the LEGO wall comes in!
