Children love using technology!
The iPads purchased with this grant will supplement student learning, as students use iPads in reading centers, to help children with phonemic awareness and build phonics skills. Students will be able to listen to books for enjoyment and to increase reading comprehension. The iPads will also be used during math instruction to increase students' understanding of numeracy, and increase math fact fluency.
The students will even be able to complete individual interventions on the iPads!
Students will be excited to use iPads in the classroom. iPads are easy for students to navigate, and provide visuals to enhance student learning. They will allow for better differentiation in the classroom. As students “learn to read”, they will also begin to “read to learn”. My hope is that students will gain a love of reading, and learn how to use their reading skills to better themselves and their community.
