This will be my third year teaching fourth grade in a high poverty school district. Over 90% of our students live in poverty. We have students from all over the world: Russia, Vietnam, Somalia, Nepal, Mexico, etc. This year, two-thirds of my students speak English as a second language.
These students come to school looking for a welcoming and structured environment where they can focus on learning and building relationships. While they all come from a diverse background, they all have the desire to become stronger students and community members.
