Every semester, students in my Theatre I and II classes explore the design process through technical theatre. This project culminates in students creating final renderings of their original costume or scenic designs to present to the class.
Throughout the process, students create many drafts of their designs and the use of a tracing light board would save students from having to perch at the window to finalize their design. Students will be able to create more professional renderings without the tears and wrinkles caused by tape and movement. They will be able to make cleaner lines and in return cleaner renderings that could be used later in life at an interview for a technical theatre position or for a collegiate scholarship in an art program.
