Our students are incredible and eager to learn individuals who come from less fortunate families. We have a diverse population of students whose parents may not have even completed high school. So a proper and prestige education with resources will help our students become the light of their families. Our school is a "Title 1" school, where funding may be little to none. Our strongest resources are the educators who teach from the heart, and a principal and administrative staff who do all they can to get students to excel.
As a media specialist I see many students who ask questions daily on their improving reading scores/levels. Our students work diligently to succeed, although we face mountains. We don't quit, we dig a tunnel to go underneath, go around, or simply stay and turn that mountain into a mountain of opportunity. I embed in the students that they are somebody, and that they have the ability to do something no one has ever done.
