My third graders enjoy group activities. A reader's theater will engage them in reading activities to promote their oral reading practice. I'm positive that my students will be engaged and entertained while improving their fluency and enhancing their comprehension.
We also need beanbags for our reading area. I want to create a welcoming area for reading. In third grade, the students should read for 30 minutes and as expected, some of them fiddle around on their chair and have a hard time focusing because they are uncomfortable.
I can picture my third graders practicing their scripts with the reader's theater while seating on the beanbags. It can't get better than that. Oh, they won't want to stop reading!
