My students are extremely motivated, young men and women. The school in which we work is a public, examination high school. The best of the city attend. All of our students are college-bound, and the school is ranked in the top 5% of the state. Despite a lack of diversity in ethnicity, 99.8% of the population is African American, the students come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Some students are homeless, and live in shelters, while others are well-off. However, we are all a family. Students helps each other, seek help from others, and try their best. The students in my physics classes are generally 11th and 12th graders preparing for college. We take an inquiry approach to learning through rigorous analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving.
