I have 75 students all of whom are considered at-risk in academic or behavioral issues. Many of my students would not graduate without my class. Many of my students will be the first in their families to go to college and want to make their parents and families proud. My school is made up of many different ethnicity's and socioeconomic backgrounds. They work so hard and even though some may think they have everything they need already, this is far from the truth. They also come from violent backgrounds, hungry homes, parentless homes, etc. They just work really hard at trying to overcome their challenges instead of letting their challenges overcome them. I love my kids and my school is passionate about reaching ALL students and we aspire to make sure they all are able to succeed.
