I am the proud teacher of a group of second graders in an upstate NY school district. Our school is a Title I school and all of our students receive free lunch, breakfast and snack.
Many students in my classroom come from low-income families. We also celebrate a very diverse student body. Living in poverty poses many issues for our families and students. I strive to give them a classroom community where every student is valued. Our classroom is a home away from home for the children.
