The first grade students in our classroom are second language learners from ten different countries around the world. They are learning to read and need access to high quality visual materials to support their work. The students are smart, but English doesn't always come easily. The challenge of learning to read in a second language can be mitigated with exciting materials like the articles in Time for Kids.
I am asking for a subscription to Time for Kids so that my first graders can jump into the English language with engaging articles and vibrant visuals. I want students to be able to see what is happening in the world around them with the most current materials possible. Time for Kids publishes articles about current events written specifically for students in first grade. This is key for my students, especially those who are new to America.
