I teach in a lower economic neighborhood in Central California. Many students live in a home with one or two of their parents working as a farm worker. Many students are the only ones in their homes who speak English.
Specifically I work with special education students. All of these students have some sort of learning disability. In talking with most of my students, one wouldn't know they have any disability. They do their best to fit in with their peers outside of the classroom, but they have a more difficult time fitting in inside the classroom.
