WMS students participate in weekly book clubs. This means every student needs a book to take home, to read, and to talk about in class on Thursdays.
Engaging, young adult, and current books are the most beneficial to students because students want to read them. Funding our project puts good books in the hands of students and engages them in reading.
Students that read do better in school. Students that read fiction have improved empathy skills. Reading benefits students on multiple levels. Currently, our students are reading older books: books that are not as engaging or current as the books in this project.
Help our students. Help them improve their reading skills. Thank you.
