There are over 200 students who move through our intervention classroom daily. Each student has a unique need that we are trying to meet.
We use testing data to focus our instruction on those who we can make the most impact on. We then break them down even further to identify their specific area of need. Groups that come at given times to our classroom are further broken down in order to lessen the teacher to student ratio. One of these groups receives explicit instruction from the teacher while the other group practices previously taught concepts with a paraprofessional.
The small group magnetic activities contained in this donors choose project will enhance students experience with previously taught concepts during their time with the classroom paraprofessional. The whiteboards and magnetic wands will be used for the hands on, kinetic learning, during the explicit instruction group with the classroom teacher.
