I am a Pre-K Teacher in North Carolina. I work at a low-income, high ESL population school. I am in a 15:2 ratio where at least three children are identified with a severe disability. My student population is very diverse, but they all work well together. They have learned to help and look out for each other. All of my students face many challenges whether language barrier, severe disability, poverty or a one-person household. I work hard everyday to meet the needs of all my students, but it becomes difficult with budget cuts being made. They come to school eager to learn, but resources are limited for me to help them reach their highest potential.
