My students will use the iPad for a variety of reasons to help them succeed in life. The main reason the iPAD will be used in the classroom is for communication with others. Many of my students are non-verbal and they struggle with letting others know their basic needs. With the iPad there are many apps available that will allow them to find their voice to communicate. The iPAD is also a great motivator and sensory item for my students. There are many apps that will be accessed to help with different visual sensory needs that my students have.
The iPAD will also help my higher functioning students through differentiated instruction. The iPAD will serve as a tool to allow activities to be modified based on the student's learning level. The students will use the iPAD to access the current curriculum being used in the classroom. The iPAD will also allow the students to participate in small group activities through a variety of apps that will test each of the students goals and objectives that are individual and unique to each student.
