Due to the pandemic, our school district will begin the school year remotely. However, my students currently do not have STEM manipulatives at home. I know that they will be easily engaged during science class, if they have the STEM manipulatives readily available at home.
Students will be required to follow the Engineering Design Process in order to pursue the weekly STEM challenge. Each student will have a pom pom with a name and each week, there will be a STEM challenge for their pom pom. For example, they will have to create a boat that can take their pom pom to the other side of a long tub. Other challenges they will have: create a bridge, a catapult, a car, a parachute, space shuttle...The possibilities are endless!
