My school is the lowest SES elementary in a district that is considered affluent. My students are very diverse and over half are on free and reduced lunch. My school promotes character education and life skills while nurturing students to be Respectful, Responsible Learners. I currently have 73 fifth graders, but the grade levels beneath fifth grade have roughly 85-100 students in the grade level. My students are wonderful children, but many of them lack age appropriate books at home or have limited access to local libraries.
