Support Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Preite's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Giving my students the opportunity to use laptops on a daily basis helps to empower them as individual learners and take their academics into their own hands. I will be able to tailor instruction and skill practice to their needs and interests, as well as use Google classroom to give feedback quicker and monitor their progress long after school hours from home.
Attendance increases dramatically when students know they will have the chance to use computers when they come to school in the morning, to edit their writing, play math games or read books that they don't have in the classroom.
There are so many ways to keep students engaged during daily instruction when they have access to laptops, including project based research on the internet, instructional videos, etc.
Access to these Chromebooks also allows my students that have specific learning disabilities or communication disorders to more easily express their ideas through writing, and makes editing a much more productive process. All of my students will be able to better navigate and be successful in the 21st century work environment when they have access to regular practice on a computer, that most do not have at home.
