My ultimate goal is to help my students be prepared for junior high. This mission is not limited to just academics. This also applies to building and teaching self-confidence and self-awareness. These skills are so necessary to help these sixth graders move into junior high. Literacy and the ability to read helps students build self-confidence. By helping my students learn to love to read will help them become prepared for their junior high experience. By having a class set of several different novels, I will be able to help my students read new genres and books they may not normally pick up. I will be able to walk them through and teach them the development of the story while building their self esteem.

About my class
