My students want to learn! Last year I started a Science Lending Library for the students in 3rd - 5th grade. Six students participated. This year, over 30 students have joined and they are taking new books each week! This is all voluntary and after school!
At this rate, I am concerned that the children in 3rd grade will run out of new books and lose interest.
A 4th grade student introduced me to the Max Axiom books last year and I bought a few for the Lending Library. They have been extremely popular books to take out since the first day! Who knows how many more children will join the Science Lending Library once the word gets out that I have more of the Max Axiom books!
