Covid 19 changed a lot of the ways my students have had access to materials during speech/language therapy sessions. Due to a large number of students I could no longer use multiple manipulatives throughout the day due to issues of cleaning. Enter the iPad. Not only has the iPad given us a new way to interact using virtual materials, it's been highly engaging for my students and has increased their desire to participate in speech activities which has increased their communication skills.
Having an additional iPad to the one already provided by the district will allow me to provide access to activities to more than one student at a time during group sessions. Being able to provide highly engaging therapy activities through speech/language apps to multiple students will allow our sessions to run more smoothly because students will be engaged in learning throughout a session.
