Imagine not being able to communicate with the language that surrounds you! My first grade students are constantly facing this challenge. They are eager to contribute and share their knowledge and experiences as they arrive each day to school. Many lack the necessary resources to make this a smooth and easy shift in acquiring the English Language. Students who attend the school are well below the poverty level and receive free breakfast and lunch.
