When we envision school, the thoughts of desks, chairs, and homework come to mind. In my classroom, we live in the idealogoy of creating change and thinkng beyond our desks.
This project will help my students become creative thinkers with options on how they prefer to engage with their academics. Students are offered to choose from a traditional seat (desk/chair) or flexible seating (carpet, yoga ball, seat spot or stools). Authors, illustrators, and creative thinkers never limit themselves just to working at a desk. They seek inspiration based on their environment. I want to transform my students thinking by transforming their classroom environment!
As a community, there are very minimal resources that we can tap into without breaking the bank. My goal is to improve the academic life of students by providing a progressive learning environment that will push them beyond their potential. Our flexible seating will be utilized every day because students will take owernship of their space and their instruction.
