We all remember what it was like to sit in a classroom where the desks were so small that we couldn't fit a notebook and a pencil on the desk at the same time. We squirmed around until we found a comfortable position only to have to keep moving every few minutes to readjust. Most of the class period was spent focused on being uncomfortable in these tiny seats. We would like to provide our students will a choice in their seat where they can feel safe and ready to learn. We want the focus to be on learning not the desk.
Adjustable desks and chairs allow students choice in how they learn. These desks allow our classroom to collaborate easily moving the desks around the room and working together as a team. Our current desks with the seat attached to the chair do not allow for the necessary collaboration that a math class needs to thrive.
