I teach at a neighborhood school in New Haven, and my students are all eager to learn and come to school excited for what they are about to do. In secondary science classrooms, it is important to give students the hands on learning that they need- I remember my science classes in high school were my inspiration to pursue science in the future, and the school I teach at is strapped for money for science equipment. The supplies we have are out of date and in run-down condition, and it would be great to get a chance to have a variety of lab equipment to give students a feel of the power of science through experimentation and labs. A lot of my students are interested in going into the science field in the future, and increasing our scope of equipment would allow these students to be on par with their peers who have access to the same if not more material.
