Welcome to my classroom!
I teach a Cross Categorical Multiple Disabilities classroom with 4 students (ages 9-13) with sever and profound diagnoses. My students are all medically fragile and have severe cognitively delays. My school is a Title 1 school in Arizona. My students experience challenges during every task. These challenges occur during Therapies (Occupational, Physical, Vision, and Speech therapies, nervousness interacting with others, social skills, inability to speak to make requests for wants/needs, lack of fine and gross motor skills and difficulty focusing on age-appropriate tasks. All of my students are wheelchair bound and rely on movement and position changing from classroom staff (EA's, Nurses, therapists and the teacher, of course ) Regardless of these challenges, my students work incredibly hard each and every day.
