This year I have 22 amazing fourth graders, and next year I will be looping up with them to fifth grade. My students have very unique personal and behavior needs, ranging from PTSD and anxiety to ADHD. I am electing to loop up with them next year to help them be the most successful they can be! We are a turnaround school, meaning we are in the lowest performing level and the state has taken us over. My students work so hard every day to overcome their personal struggles, and their academic struggles to help our school improve. The majority of my class are English Language Learners, with many just moved to the USA in recent years. I also have many students who are reading below grade level, but despite that reading in our classroom is present all day every day! My kiddos constantly have their heads in books buzzing to become better readers.
