My students are a great mixture of cultures that provide the opportunity for us to learn from one and other. They are extremely eager to learn everyday they walk into my classroom. They love real stories about real animals, people and events. They always have great questions and want to dig further into the topic. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, our grade level does not receive social studies materials. We must provide our own or share one kit among eight classrooms. This is a challenge since our students really need the materials in their hands so they can mark up the information in the text and truly learn the concepts being presented. I cannot tell you how excited my students would be to have the opportunity to hold and read their "own" resource. It would truly be a gift!
