These materials will lead my scholars to success in their efforts to become globally competent citizens and leaders of the world. The document camera is so important to instruction, as it allows a teacher (and fellow scholars) to model methods of completing a task. I can display a poem written by a scholar to use as a whole-class shared reading, or project the details of a carefully created art project. A scholar can show their peers how they solved a difficult word problem, and feel the sense of pride and accomplishment that comes with displaying their competencies to an admiring community. Document cameras are essential to a culture of learning. The two iPads will be used in any and all areas of academic rigor in the classroom. In reading, students will be able to listen to stories being read aloud, as the connection of spoken language and printed word is made clear. Because of the high motivation factor of digital books, these iPads will be able to provide access to the joy of reading that few scholars have ever been able to experience. Furthermore, the amount of apps that are backed by research-based methods is astonishing, and I plan on making full use of these opportunities in math, ELA, science, and social studies lessons. I am not exaggerating when I say that the scholars will be able to experience a world that they have never previously imagined or been able to explore!
