My school has a high population of English learners, and students from low income homes. They are the sweetest students, and want so badly to learn and succeed, but they do not have access to the books and learning materials they need at home. School becomes their only outlet for academic success, and our school is constantly focusing on this.
We are a NO EXCUSES University school, so where ever a student is in the school they are reminded that college is their goal. We focus on this by doing math nights, reading nights, school wide homework help and other after school tutoring.
