My students are the friendliest students in the school. They are all diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and we are always learning new things about one another. Everyday each student is taught reading, math, social studies, and science at their own individual present education levels. We are busy! Also, my students receive 30 minutes of social skills instruction everyday. For example, things like making eye contact and using an appropriate tone of voice when talking to others. My school is located in a neighborhood within a big city. The students come from many different neighborhoods surrounding the school. With the diverse backgrounds of my students, it makes for an active day in our classroom. We are always learning together and independently. Being a first year teacher in the school and creating this classroom, my students and I enjoy learning and being a part of our school community.
