Our library is undergoing a major overhaul and our students love to read - graphic novels are in high demand! Research shows that exposure to graphic novels can dramatically improve reading development for reluctant and struggling readers. These lively storylines and illustrations present complex characters, evolving plots and a variety of text structures. Experiencing literature in this format motivates students to READ MORE, and reading more increases fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Graphic novels get kids excited to read. Motivation + Engagement = Confidence A lifelong reader is a lifelong learner!
