My students and I can greatly benefit from having an easel in our classroom. Unfortunately, at my new school we do not have a smart board or promethean board to interact with during our lessons and we have very little board space. My goal is to turn my chalkboard into an interactive bulletin board and use the easel for my daily lessons. The easel will be placed in the front of the classroom near the gathering rug. We will use the easel for all subject. I will be able to do a lot of modeling for the students using the board. Students will also be able to come up to the easel (which is their size) and answer questions. This item will be a very important part of our classroom that we will use daily.
What's better than new books AND new book boxes? My students will be reading during Daily 5 everyday. During Daily 5, students have their own, individual book box filled with books of their choice. They take their book box to any spot in the room and either read to themselves, to me, or read with partners. Student love to show off the books that they're reading and love to show how well they can read them. The books that I chose to help fill my classroom library have been students favorites in my previous years of teaching. These new books and book boxes will motivate my students to read and have fun while doing so!
