My students come from over 60 countries. In their native countries they loved to read, but since arriving in our classrooms they are not excited about reading. What they see in the illustrations does not reach them and the plot summaries are not something they can connect with. They need to see multicultural story lines and illustrations that remind them of their own culture! Each and every one of these kiddos wants to succeed in the classroom. They are learning to listen and speak in English. Reading is their next hurdle in their language progression. Having books that they WANT to read will help them each and every day.
About my class
