Our school has a diverse population. 45% of our students are considered to be low income. 81 students receive ELL support and 32 are monitored students through the ELL program.
Some students come from single parents households or from household where parents work multiple jobs. They may take care of younger siblings when they come home from school. Educational support at home is not always available.
Whatever the level home support they receive, our students love to read. 85% of our students read one hour or more every day. They are driven to set and meet individualized goals in reading. They work hard all year long to reach grade level proficiency and beyond.
