These materials will enhance a structured work time in my classroom called "Plan, Do, Review." During this time, students draw and write a picture of what they want to make or create and who they want to work with. Students get a chance for some free play with engaging materials while also practicing social skills while working with other students.
Free play time is essential to giving young learners a chance to be creative while also working on their social skills. These engaging materials would enhance this work time for my students and give them opportunities to use materials that many of them don't have access to at home.
