I am teaching a 2nd grade. Our district is a low-income area in which many of our students' families struggle for everyday necessities. My students come to school despite these struggles happy, thankful and ready for school. Many are behind academically due to lack of resources and support from home. Every day we, as teachers, work hard to increase our students' knowledge and skills so that our students will be successful and have choices that they otherwise may not. My students are my heart and I want them to have a proper learning environment.
