Having all the different manipulative will help create an environment for creative learning, independence and multi-level autonomy. Students will be able to create on their own and explore and make choices that are critical for their development and growth. Kindergarten students are learning to be independent, and one of my instructional goals is to create an environment where students can learn and have fun while I concentrate on small group instruction. We need five Chromebooks, alphabet sound teaching tubs, animal sets and assorted manipulatives. Students can rotate from puzzles areas and blocks to computers while I target small groups for instruction.
My students will benefit from the Chromebooks by getting engaged in interactive lessons doing their own research on topics of their interest and having lots of fun while learning.
In today’s age, computer literacy is an integral component of any student’s learning plan. By providing students with access to the greatest learning tool ever invented---the Internet---they gain unprecedented access to resources and information.
Having a variety of manipulatives and computers in the classroom will allow my little students to gain a competitive education and close the achievement gap.
