"A picture is worth a thousand words," is a very powerful statement. When I see a beautiful photograph or vivid diagram, both my mind and my comprehension are enhanced. I think children feel the same. It would make such a difference if my students could have access to a classroom colored printer.
My sixth graders love doing projects, and if they could create and print colored diagrams, beautiful landscapes, wonders of the world and unique sites, then they would not only feel good about a quality project but also capture the attention of their audience. Many children will never get a chance to travel abroad, so they would have a chance to see the world in a snapshot.
Most schools are not able to meet the supply and demand of daily printing pictures because of the cost and availability. Having access to a classroom printer would give every child an opportunity to print colored pictures.
