Our school is approximately 991 students and is composed of seventh and eighth grade. Our school and district has had substantial growth and our community is bonding for a new middle school and elementary school. With this type of growth our school budget is extremely stretched. We are a title one school, however the district directs most of that money to our elementary schools to help with reading. Our students are typical middle school students from all different backgrounds. Most of the middle school students do NOT have a natural love for science and math. They need real life projects where they are able to use their wonderful creative energy. Our school just started a STEM class last year and now we are also trying a STEM afterschool club where students in our school and community will come to build underwater robots. We are partnering with BYU and 4-H in order to make this program a success.
