I teach 13 First Graders in a public school located in an economically disadvantaged area. Most of the industry that was the financial backbone of our community have closed due to poor economic times or have moved their operation overseas leaving many of my student's parents unemployed. The two computers we have in our classroom are nearly twice as old as the students who use them on a daily basis which makes teaching and exposing students to technology an impossibility.
